Recent discovery of the repuslive sort.
Lately we have been living with a non stop stench. We narrowed down the source to the wall in which our pocket door to the bathroom in located. It smelt like the most horrible rotten garbage you could ever imagine. I bought several different varieties of room deodorizers and even some fancy incense from India- nothing helped. That wall is connected to our garage which is also ripe with garbage aroma on most occasions so we thought the source had to be the garbage can. We bleached out the garbage can for several days... Still no stench relief.
Yesterday Ken went into the garage to find the source of the offensive smell. Not long after he started looking he found an old set of plastic drawers that I used to use to hold my potatoes and onions. Apparently when I decommissioned it I forgot to remove the onions. They had rotted to the pure liquid stage. Ken nearly vomited several times while trying to clean it out. Poor guy.
Guess what?? The stench is gone. My sister will be happy to know this. Since she lived with the stench during her entire visit here, she knows exactly how bad it was.
My stench for today was when I placed my coffee in the microwave to warm it up- not thinking that the cup is NOT safe for the microwave. It melted, and the fumes of melted plastic nearly brought on a migraine. I'm pretty chapped because I LOVED that cup, and it came with the mini coffee maker that Suz gave me. Drat it all again.
OH well, on to the next stench...

So THAT is what rotten liquid onions smells like... I was always curious!
BARF! lol
I'm glad you got rid of that smell... glad you didn't discover a rotting corpse or an animal or something, that would have made Ken hurl for sure! lol

OH...I have done stuff like that. Once I had house guests who left a bunch of veggies in the crisper which I never use. I couldnt figure out why my fridge stunk so bad until one day I opened up that drawer and everything inside was liquid. gag-o-rama

With your high humidity I suppose lots of things quickly go-bad if they get left out of the fridge for long ?
Our worst stench was back in P A and it was actually somebody elses stench as we Just sub-rented a suite and they had left the fridge defrost with meat in the freezer part-$#$@ all we could do was tape the door shut and move !!!

I so have a week stomach... I had a stench in my house and realized it was bread that had converted entirely to mold... *blech* getting queasy thinking about that.
Maybe the next stench can be burnt popcorn.

Oh, Eew!
I had a zucchini get away from me once. When I uncovered it (while scrubbing the fridge) it was half liquid, half mold. It was beyond gross.
At least your hubby will clean it himself. I had do deal with the zucchini corpse. Mine said it was too nasty. What a wuss! :)

I've dealt with many a vegetable corpse in my fridge. As far as my hubby is concerned the fridge is my domain so I have to take care of that. The garage on the other hand is His domain so HE took care of that...

That's funny!
My hubby's the bug killer. Anything food related that he deems "gross" is my problem.
(You should have seen him the first time he watched me clean a frying chicken. I thought he was going to faint!!)
